Women's Basketball Has Best Season Since Rebirth
Paul Smiths, NY ~ The Paul Smith's College Women's Basketball team has recorded its best season in program history. The Lady Bobcats finished the season 14-11, losing to a tough conference rival Central Maine CC Mustangs in the Final four of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) tournament.
Two Lady Bobcats were named to the Yankee Small College Conference All-Conference teams. Jordan Louis (Crystal, NM) was named to the All-YSCC First team as well as USCAA Honorable Mention. Louis earns ALL-YSCC honors back-to-back years. Jayla Gray (Smithfield, VA) was named to the All-YSCC second team.
Louis earned the honors after leading the team with 14.9 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 2.5 SPG. She finished fourth in the YSCC in scoring and third in the conference in assists per game.
Gray led the team with 11.8 RPG, finishing with an impressive 284 rebounds and 276 points on the season. The double-double machine earned an impressive 12 double-doubles on the season, and finished first in the YSCC in total offensive rebounds and second in total rebounds.
Coach Rideout was named the YSCC Coach of the Year after his first season with the Bobcats. Rideout earned the first Coach of the Year Award for the women's basketball program at PSC.
Three Lady Bobcats were named to the USCAA All-Academic Team. Holly Bagley (Bloomfield, NY), Hayleigh Gates (West Winfield,NY), and Jordan Louis earned the honors, with impressive performances in the classroom as well as on the basketball court.
