PSC Paddlers Dominate Remington Canoe Races

Renssalaer Falls, NY ~ The Paul Smith's College Marathon Canoe team competed in the Remington Canoe Races over the weekend as a tuneup to the Adirondack 90 Miler starting September 9th in Old Forge.
Aidan Ripp, Dolcie Tanguay, Saylor Landrum, and Timo Ziegler - they crossed in the day's fastest time of 57:36. The Bobcats also swept 1-3 in the C2 Stock competition with John Thompson and Gus Whitcomb leading the pack followed closely by Charles "Chaz" Forbes and Ezra Webster. Logan Jensen and Jessie Church paddled into the final podium position as all three boats were within a minute of each other.
The Bobcat paddlers proved they are well prepared for the 90 Miler with a strong showing at the buildup event on the Oswegatchie River in Renssalaer Falls. Paul Smith's College had 7 boats in the Remington Canoe race with all the boats finishing in the top three in their race class.
The Bobcats' fastest boat on the day was the C4 boat of In the women's C2 race Abigail "Bee" Johnson and Emily Cieslewitz took the win with a very strong time of 1:03:03. Phil Matthews took the C1 category in his first ever canoe race, winning the C1 class with a very solid effort.
Paul Smith's College returns to the lakes and rivers this weekend in the Adirondack 90 Miler starting Friday in Old Forge, NY and finishing Sunday in Saranac Lake, NY. Come out and support the Bobcats as they paddle in the Adirondack Canoe Classic!
