Bio

Mercedes graduated from Green Mountain College in 2019 with a BS in Psychology.  During her time at GMC, she became one of the most prolific scorers in program history, finishing as the 8th all-time leading scorer with well over 1,100 career points.  She also set two school records: career three-pointers made (295) and most three-pointers in a single season (89).  A four-year starter who never missed a game, Rideout served as a three-year captain and earned the Eagle Award twice.  In addition to basketball, she competed in soccer for two seasons, lacrosse for a season, and also played matches in both volleyball and tennis. 

After her playing career, Rideout continued her education at Castleton University, earning a Master of Science in Athletic Leadership in 2021.

She is now entering her 4th season as Athletics Operations Manager, 2nd year as Assistant Sports Information Director, and 4th season as Athletics Photographer at Paul Smith's College. 

She currently resides in Lake Placid, NY with her boyfriend, Brandon, and their young, spunky pup, Sparky.

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she later resided in Pennsylvania before moving to Vermont and now New York.  Outside of athletics, Rideout enjoys photography, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and Sparky.

Fun Fact! Mercedes is a better shooter than her dad, despite what he may believe.
