The YSCC Recognizes 40 PSC Student Athletes with All Academic Honors

YSCC All-Academic Team

This past fall, Paul Smith’s College is honored to have 40 student athletes earning the distinction of being named to the YSCC All-Academic Team for the fall semester. The women’s soccer team leads the way with 13 team members; women’s cross country has 7; men’s cross country - 5; women’s volleyball - 7; and men’s soccer - 8. Paul Smith’s College has more student athletes selected to the YSCC All-Academic Team than any other college.

To be eligible for consideration a student must be a full time student – athlete with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or more; and participated in one of the sports recognized by the YSCC during the fall semester: women’s volleyball, men’s/women’s soccer, and men’s/women’s cross country.

It is a real tribute to the student athletes themselves and the faculty and staff of Paul Smith's College as they all work to help ensure the academic success of our student athletes. Our students have worked hard on the playing field and the results from this past fall are truly an indication of the efforts the student athletes. The soccer teams both enjoyed their most successful seasons ever, while the women's volleyball team enjoed more wins this season than in the past eight years. The cross country teams continued to enjoy great individual and team success. Athletic Director Jim Tucker said of this achievement, "These students know that academics come first, and yet work really hard to bring success to the college on the athletic field. It is really a pleasant experience to work with these students on a daily basis."
