Women’s Volleyball Represented by Second Team All-American
Uniontown, PA ~ One member of the Paul Smith's College volleyball team was presented with an All-American designation at the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA) Awards Banquet last month, showcasing the team's continued excellence at the national level.
Sophomore middle hitter Finnley Jacobson (Vergennes, VT) was named a Second Team USCAA All-American this season, a superlative that recognizes her for being one of the top volleyball players in the country. Jacobson continued to dominate on both ends of the court, adding to her season totals of 180 kills (2.73 per set), 38 assists, 55 service aces, 263 digs (3.98 per set), and 54 total blocks. Her ability to contribute in every aspect of the game made her a standout performer throughout the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) tournament and USCAA nationals.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Jacobson was also recognized for her academic achievements as a member of the USCAA All-Academic Team, joining teammates Alli Cherry (Grasonville, MD), Kaleigh Koss (Sweet Valley, PA), Karlye Murphy (Hilton, NY), and Kaliyah Davis (Queensbury, NY) in earning this I'l prestigious honor. Their success off the court exemplifies the Bobcats' commitment to excellence both as athletes and students.
Paul Smith's College also had three players earn superlatives at the YSCC Tournament. Jacobson and Louis were named First Team All-Conference, while Davis nabbed an Honorable Mention to go along with her Defensive Player of the YSCC tournament accolades.
