PSC Bobcats Enjoy the 25th Annual Olga Run in Saranac Lake to begin 2022 Season
Alex Cameron and Dermot O'Connor paced the Bobcats in the 5 and 10K respectively in Saranac Lake's Olga Run.
Alex Cameron and Dermot O'Connor placed 3rd and 5th respectively overall in the 5K and the 10K at the 25th Annual Olga Run in Saranac Lake, NY. Cameron's time of 20:19 was good enough to win the men's 20 - 29 category, while O'Connor's time of 43:06 placed him second in the men's 20 - 29 category in the 10K.
The Paul Smith's College was using the Olga Run as a tune-up in the midst of preseason training as they get ready for the 2022 college cross country season.
Ryan Chiari placed second in the U-19 category in the 5K in a time of 20:33, to place fifth overall. Melody Ascioti and Reese Covington placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the women's U-20 age category in the 5K with times of 27:00 and 27:23 respectively.
Carson Wohlers placed third in the U-20 5K with a time of 21:43, while Zachary Bobbie placed third in the 20 - 29 category in the 5K with a time of 25:33.
The team has been together for under a week, but they have been enjoying some long distance point to point runs, and have hiked St. Regis and Ampersand Mountains while also canoeing and running the Paul Smith's College VIC trails. They are conducting ten canoe safety sessions for the incoming students today in Lower St. Regis, and will conclude preseason training with another 10 mile point to point run. They will begin on the McKenzie Pond Road and take the Jack Rabbit Trail to Stewart's Shops on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid.
