Paul Smith’s College Results
Conditions: Cool, ground snow covered in early AM, melted quickly by 11 AM
The Paul Smith's College men's team placed 12th at USCAA XC Nationals held at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. Meet winner SUNY - ESF was led by event winner, Tim Callaghan in 27:30, followed by Jon Cleveland in 4th with a time of 27:50.
Paul Smith's was led by Louis Ferrone (SO: East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse - Minoa HS) who finished 47th in a time of 30:52.2 and Zach Davidson (SR: Charlottesville, VA/Monticello HS) who finished in 65th place with a time of 31:34.2.
The 8K course became somewhat more sloppy with the new fallen snow melting on the golf course, and the traction became reduced on some of the inclines. The 183 runners who finished made quite a mess of what had been a nice looking golf course at the start of the day's events.
On the men's side, there were 19 complete teams and 13 additional teams competing in this years small college national championships, and Paul Smith's was the top team from the Yankee Small College Conference.
The 2014 USCAA Nationals will also be hosted by SUNY - ESF at Drumlins Country Club.
