Multiple Bobcats Earn USCAA Honors, Including Coaching Staff of the Year
Pittsburgh, PA ~ After what was likely the most succesful season in program history, including their first-ever trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Men's Division II Soccer National Tournament, the Paul Smith's College men's soccer team is adding some hardware to the trophy case.
Four Bobcats were honored at the USCAA Awards Banquet on November 14th as Paul Smith's College was well-represented on the national level. Superlatives were awarded for the following categories:
USCAA First Team All American
Liam Curthoys (Rhinebeck, NY) - 7 goals, 16 assists, 30 points in 17 games played (16 as a starter) as the conduit throught which the Bobcat attack originated.
USCAA Second Team All American
Nick Grover (Batavia, NY) - 13 goals, 6 assits, 32 points in 18 games played (all as a starter) as the main offensive weapon and service key for the Bobcats this season.
Nathan Wiley (Wareham, MA) - 11 goals, 1 assist, 23 points in 15 games played (13 as a starter) as the secondary offensive weapon, known for his speed and skill along the outside.
USCAA Coaching Staff of the Year
Head Coach Chris George - In his first season, guided the Bobcats to their first-ever national tournament appearance and YSCC runner-up.
Assistant Coach Steven Donnelly - mainly worked with goaltender Cazmir Couble and helped guide the Bobcats to seven clean sheets throughout the year.
The four superlatives is the most at the national level for the Bobcats since the 2013 season.
