Huskies Earn Big Win Entering Christmas Break

POTTERSVILLE, NY - - The Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies hosted the Paul Smith's College Bobcats in the Women's basketball final game before the winter break. The Huskies last time out fell to Bryant & Stratton College (Albany) 77-62 on Tuesday night, and the Huskies have won 4 of their last 6 games entering Thursday evening.

The game started off with some back-and-forth play, the Bobcats came out swinging taking nearly 50% of their shots from 3-point range throughout the game (5/39). The Huskies would keep the game close and get great production on the glass. Rachel Sheaffer recorded a Huskies' single-game rebound record with 20 rebounds. Sheaffer would also put 8 points onto the board, while Kayli Hayden would score 17 points and record 8 rebounds. Dakotah Cutting would also contribute with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. MJ Buck would score 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. While the Huskies committed 20 turnovers, they were able to force another 20 from the Bobcats to keep the turnover margin even. A good 3rd Quarter sealed the deal as the Huskies outscored the Bobcats 20-12 in the 3rd and would go on to win 58-53 over Paul Smith's to earn their 5th win over the last 7 games to enter the Christmas Break and improve to 5-6 on the season.

The Huskies will next be in action on Saturday, January 13 at Villa Maria College in their first HVIAC matchup of the 2023/24 season.
