Women's Soccer Honors Seniors
PAUL SMITHS N.Y. – Paul Smith’s Women’s Soccer would like to recognize their 4 outstanding senior athletes for their accomplishments to the program and to Paul Smith’s College.
All four student-athletes have made significant contributions to the team, making important strides on the field and all contributing to the betterment of the team in training, on the sidelines or off the field and in the Paul Smith’s community. We asked our four seniors some questions on their time with Paul Smith’s Women’s Soccer.

What's your favorite Paul Smith’s College Soccer memory?
There are so many memories to choose from but my favorite would have to be from this past 2019 fall season when the women's team made it to the Final Fours and sadly lost in the semi-final game. I can remember how proud I was of all of the girls and it was a great way to end my collegiate soccer career. I wish to my remaining teammates the best of luck and always remember play hard, play strong, and kick some butt!!
Describe the relationship with your fellow teammates and coaches.
I am so grateful for the friendships I have made with my fellow teammates the past 4 years and could not thank them all enough for that. I always viewed my teammates as family members, even the men's team, and wish everyone the best of luck in the future. A huge shoutout to Bailey Waterbury and Zach Luzzi for being amazing coaches and pushing me to be a stronger and more confident player. I will miss my regular visits into Bailey's office to chat about everything and annoying Zach on a daily basis.
What will you miss most about Paul Smith’s Soccer?
I will definitely miss playing the sport I love with the team I love at the place I love. I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else and having the same great experience I did at Paul Smith's.
What's something you can thank the coaching staff and professors for teaching you during your four years?
I'd like to thank all the professors for anyways being super understanding and flexible with the crazy soccer schedule's during the fall semesters. They all see how much we love the sport and that truly means a lot. Again, Bailey and Zach always did everything they possibly could for myself and the teams to make sure we always had a great season, good bus snacks, and overall a fun time. Thank you also to Jim Tucker for supporting our teams and always remembering me as "the girl from Vermont".
What are your postgraduate plans?
I will be starting with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in late May as a Conservation Educator for the summer and plan on traveling around as much as possible. My goal is to focus on outdoor education of some sort but who knows where life will take you!

What's your favorite Paul Smith’s College Soccer memory?
Over the four years playing for Paul Smith’s soccer it is hard to choose just one memory. Some of my favorite memories include the hikes we took as a team, the crazy bus rides, making it to the final four, and creating friendships that will last.
Describe the relationship with your fellow teammates and coaches.
Being part of the Paul Smith’s soccer team was more than just a team. We were a family who would help each other on and off the field. On bus rides, the upperclassmen would help the younger classmen with homework if they needed. Whenever you saw a fellow teammate around campus, you’d wave and say hi to them. Even when the season was over, we were still a team and there for each other and hung out.
What will you miss most about Paul Smith’s Soccer?
I will miss playing soccer the most, but I will also miss the laughs at practice, stepping onto the field for a big game, and being part of the Paul Smith’s soccer team.
What's something you can thank the coaching staff and professors for teaching you during your four years?
Something I can thank the coaching staff and professors for teaching me during my four years at Paul Smith’s is to believe in myself and my abilities. Being a small school, the coaches and professors really get to know you on a personal level and care about you and your success. They are always there cheering you on and helping you whenever they can.
What are your postgraduate plans?
I am currently employed at Rochester Institute of Technology working as the baker for their catering department. One day, however, I hope to open my own bakery.

What's your favorite Paul Smith’s College Soccer memory?
It's hard to choose just one memory because we have made so many from the bus rides, to the hotel nights, to our shenanigans on the field. I would have to say one of my favorites was the last game when our bus broke down. We were on the side of the road stranded in a random town. But, despite the loss, our season ending, and how tired we were, we still were playing games with rocks on the side of the road and being our natural goofy selves.
Describe the relationship with your fellow teammates and coaches.
I developed a lot of good relationships with my teammates throughout my four years on the team. I still talk to a lot of them even though I don't see them everyday like I used to. I also developed a great relationship with my coach, especially the last year. She was always there for me and helped me both on and off the field. One of the things I will miss most is sitting in her office joking around with her and the other coaches.
What will you miss most about Paul Smith’s Soccer?
I will definitely miss the family aspect of the team. Spending every day with the same people for months can definitely spark some conflict, which it did, but in the end, we always still had each other's backs. I truly wouldn't trade my experience for the world.
What's something you can thank the coaching staff and professors for teaching you during your four years?
I'd like to thank all my coaches and professors for shaping me into the person I am today. I was taught so many lessons, and not just in the classroom, that I can take with me in the future. The biggest thing I was taught was leadership.
What are your postgraduate plans?
I plan to work in a bakery, hopefully doing some creativity work and decorating. Maybe one day I will even open my own bakery.

What's your favorite Paul Smith’s College Soccer memory?
Scoring my first and only collegiate goal on senior night is tied with singing badly on the bus trips without the guys
Describe the relationship with your fellow teammates and coaches.
One of my favorite things about the team, including the coaches, is that we are always there for each other no matter what. I know that I have made friendships that will last a long time because of the soccer team.
What will you miss most about Paul Smith’s Soccer?
I’m going to miss a lot. My teammates, the shenanigans, the bad singing, teasing Zach, and just playing soccer.
