Ruckman to Join Bobcats Men’s Ice Hockey in Fall
PAUL SMITHS N.Y. – Coach Casey Gerrish of Paul Smith’s College Hockey is happy to announce the addition of Jack Ruckman to the men’s hockey roster. Ruckman, from Westfield, New Jersey, hopes to bring depth to the goalie position for the Bobcats in the 2020 season.
“Jack will have an immediate impact for us in net this upcoming season. When he visited campus last fall he blended in seamlessly” Gerrish said. “His passion for hockey is obvious, and I’m really looking forward to having him on the team.”
Ruckman brings experience to the ice after serving as the Westfield High School starting goalie where he led the team to a15-6-2 record. Ruckman also boasted a 1.71 GAA, with a .913 Save Percentage, and started in 5 “Shutout” games. During his tenure at Westfield Ruckman also played club hockey for the Cranford Hockey Club.
“Finding a college that had the major I wanted and a hockey program for me to play in was a challenge at first but when I found Paul Smith’s College I knew I didn’t have to look any further” Ruckman commented. “PSC has everything I’m looking for. Coach Gerrish was super inviting to me and so was the team. Can’t wait for the next 4 years!”
Jack is the son of David and Lara, and he plans to study Culinary Arts at PSC this fall.
