SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team took care of the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College 70-29 in the first of two Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) regular season meetings on Monday, Jan. 8.

The Seawolves' offense kept it steady, spreading the scoring near even across all four quarters. Their stingy defense held the Bobcats to single digits in all but the third quarter.

Coming off a 29-point performance two days earlier, junior co-captain Maddy York (Nobleboro, Maine) scored 11 more in this contest on 4-9 shooting. Rookie guard Jenna Philbrook (Rochester, N.H.) matched that output with 11 of her own adding a team-leading five assists. It was a complete team effort as Coach Stannard emptied her bench to see everyone playing time.

Paul Smith's Holly Bagley led her team with nine points and seven rebounds.

The result moved SMCC to 10-2 overall, 3-2 in league action. Paul Smith's dips to 1-5, 1-3 YSCC.
