PSC Women’s Hockey Sweep in MA
The Paul Smith's College Women's Hockey Team swept their opponents in Massachusetts over the weekend en route to 2nd place in their division. Saturday's game at Mount Holyoke saw every Bobcat who played tally at least one point in a dominating 16-0 victory. Nidia DeArmaYero (Akwesasne, NY) led the Bobcats in points with 3 goals and a whopping 8 assists, while Katie Premo (Ogdensburg, NY) collected a shutout, adding an assist of her own, a feat that is very rare for a goaltender.
The outmatched Mount Holyoke Lyons couldn't get anything going, as 90% of the play was controlled by Paul Smith's College. Charlotte Kline (Worthington, Ohio) and Samantha Peters (Northfield, OH) played the entire 51 minutes of the game and collected 2 goals 2 assists and 4 goals 2 assists, respectively. Allie Chamberlain (Tupper Lake, NY) added 2 goals and 3 assists while another local product, Lindsay Reeve (Saranac Lake, NY), netted her first goal as a Bobcat - she also talkied an assist on the day. Other newcomers Ruth Marscham (Constitution Hill, Australia) and Anna Thrasher (Leonia, NJ) both scored twice while Thrasher added an assist.
The next day in Easthampton, MA proved to be more difficult for the Bobcats, as Katey Snyder (Lake Clear, NY) was needed in the net to make key saves during the more evenly matched game. DeArmaYero collected her second hat trick in as many games, while Chamberlain and Marscham added to the PSC total as the Bobcats earned a 5-1 victory against the Smith College Pioneers.
With the weekend sweep, the Bobcats improve to 3-3 on the season. The wins also bring them to 2nd place in the ADK West division of the IWCHL. Next up is a trip back to Massachusetts on December 7th and 8th as the Paul Smith's College Women's Hockey Team travel to Springfield College to close out first semester league play. Games are at 1pm Saturday December 7th and 1:30pm Sunday December 8th. Both games are at Smead Arena in Springfield, MA.
