PSC Women's Hockey Drop a Close One to Norwich
The Paul Smith's College Women's Hockey Team dropped a close game to Norwich University on Saturday night at the Kreitzberg Arena in Northfield, Vermont. The Bobcats struck first on the Power Play as Charlotte Kline (Worthington, OH) converted on a beautiful give and go play from Samantha Peters (Northfield, OH). Katey Snyder (Lake Clear, NY) made some key saves in the first frame and the Bobcats held a 1-0 lead going into the 2nd period. The Norwich Cadets tied it up in the middle frame as Paul Smith's College got into penalty trouble. Both sides traded penalties back and forth for the remainder of the period but no one could convert as both defenses and goaltenders played supberb shut down hockey. The game winning goal came with just over a minute left in the final frame as a Cadet forward slipped in behind the Bobcats defense and put a well placed slot pass into the back of the net. Synder ended up with 35 saves in the losing effort.
The Paul Smith's College Women's Hockey team sits at 1-3 in league play and heads down to West-Central Massachusetts this weekend to play Mount Holyoke and Smith. Games are at 2:30pm Saturday, November 16th vs. Mount Holyoke at the Fitzpatrick Ice Rink in Holyoke, MA and 1:00pm Sunday, November 17th vs. Smith at Smead Arena in Springfield, MA.
