Lauren Brieant

Collegiate Sports:  Women's Cross Country (2013 - 2014); Snowshoe Racing (2013 - 2015).

High School:  West Genesee High School (2013).

Academic Major:  Recreation, Adventure Travel & Ecotourism

Collegiate Athletic Honors and Achievements

Snowshoe Racing (2014):  US Snowshoe Nationals Women's Relay Champions (2014 & 2015).  Junior Women's National Snowshoe Team Champions (2014).  Paul Smith's College Striders Most Improved Snowshoer (2014). Lauren earned bronze medals in the 400 meters (2:04.44) and in the 800 meters (5:36) at the Empire State Games.

Snowshoe Racing (2015):  Lauren earned a berth to US Snowshoe Nationals with a strong performance at the Cock - A Doodle Shoe.  Lauren then finished 2nd in the age 20 - 29 category at the Empire State Snowshoe Racing Association (ESSRA) Championships. 

Lauren earned Junior A Women's Athlete of the Day honors at the International Snowshoe Championships in Lewiston, Maine with five silver medals and two bronze through the day. 

Lauren placed second at the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival 2,000 meter snowshoe race held at Dewey Mountain under the lights.

Lauren earned four gold medals at the Empire State Games (age 15 - 19) with wins in the 100 (23.79), 400 (1:51), 800 (4:30) and then the 5K (32:27) on snowshoes. Lauren placed fourth overall for the women at the challenging Highland Forest 10K with a time of 1:23:36 leading towards US Nationals.

Lauren finished fourth in the age 20 - 24 women's 10K at US nationals with a time of 59:48.  She was also a member of the Paul Smith's Colelge women's 10K team that placed third at US nationals.
