Men's Basketball Eliminated by Knights in YSCC Quarterfinals
February 17th – Randolph, VT – During the weekend the Men's basketball team traveled to Randolph, Vermont to take on the Third Seeded Green Knights of Vermont Tech in the YSCC Quarterfinals, winner of the match would advance to a trip to the YSCC Final Four.
Despite the strong shooting on the day the Bobcats had a hard time holding back the Knights as they would go back and forth between the first few minutes but the Knights would go on a run, going 17-0 to take a 31-18 advantage. At the half the Knights led 42-33. The second half wasn't much different as the 'Cats still struggled to get back in the game. The Knights would not look back from here a took home a 96-73 win and advance to the YSCC Final Four.
Leading the Bobcats on the day was Junior Rahiem Robinson (Hartford, CT) who led the team with 21 points, Sterling Scott (Brooklyn, NY) was the next leading scorer with 17 points, and seven assists, Kenny Smith (Yonkers, NY) came off the bench and had another great all-around preformance with 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals.
With the loss the 'Cats YSCC championship dreams come to an end but will wrap up their season with a final game in the Carrier Dome against big rival SUNY-ESF.
