Auburn, ME - This past weekend the Men's basketball team traveled to Maine to take part in a weekend conference double-header.
On Saturday the Bobcats would play conference rival central Maine Community College who were 4-1 in conference play. The Bobcats would try to keep it close against the Mustangs by only down by seven at the half, but things would change in the second half as CMCC came out roaring and would take the game by a margin of 82-65.
Sterling Scott (Brooklyn, NY) would lead the team in scoring with 23 points and grab seven rebounds, while Junior Rahiem Robinson (Hartford, CT) would contribute 14 points to the Bobcat's effort.
The team would shoot 39% from the field while also shooting a season high 50% from three. The Mustangs out rebounded the Bobcats 38-30.
Sunday, the Bobcats would face the Moose of Maine Augusta. The game would be incredibly close as the Bobcats only trailed by four at the half and would come of the gates strong forcing the game into Overtime. Unfortunately the Moose would eventually pull away in OT and come out with the victory 82-79
Sterling Scott (Brooklyn, NY) would have another big game recording 26 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Rahiem Robinson (Hartford, CT was the Bobcats next leading scorer with 19 points. While sophomore Kenny Smith (Yonkers, NY) put up another all-around performance with eight points, nine rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal.
The Bobcats would shoot a team combined 42.9% from three and 39.4% from the field but were outrebounded by the Moose 40-47.
With the weekend over the Bobcats record now falls to 5-9 overall and 1-5 in YSCC play. The Bobcats next travel to Brooklyn, NY to play SUNY Canton in the Barclays Center witch is home to the NBA team Brooklyn Nets.
