Katey Snyder and Annie DeHaven Awarded YSCC Women’s Soccer 1st Team All-Conference
The women’s soccer team made it to the final 4 in the YSCC conference championship for the first time since 2013. Despite being seeded sixth overall, they upset the third ranked team in the league and came from behind in the first round of playoffs with a 2-1 victory over Maine Machias, advancing to the semifinals. Captains Katey Snyder and Annie DeHaven were both awarded with first team all-conference honors. Snyder finished seventh in the conference with 19 total points, while DeHaven finished 12th with 12 total points.
Katey Snyder is an extremely hard-working forward who could blow by anyone you put her up against. With her 8 goals and 3 assists, a 3.5 GPA, and her hardworking character it is obvious to see why she was named team captain for the Bobcats this season. Her diligence on and off the field was always shown no matter what the score or how hard the task. Snyder is a shining junior for the bobcats and is someone to look out for in her senior year.
Annie DeHaven is the definition of float like a butterfly sting like a bee with her quick and fluid moves. Annie made it look easy this past season as she weaved in and out of the best defenders in the league. DeHaven claimed 5 goals and 2 assists this season despite being out with an injury for multiple weekends. Between her work ethic, talent, and her sunshine personality, she was nominated co captain of the bobcats along with Junior Katey Snyder and Senior Kelvey McGinnis. DeHaven is a rising sophomore and we are excited for what she brings to the table in years to come.
