Bobcats take Round 1 of YSCC Playoffs
Bobcats took home the victory Saturday against the University Maine Machias Clippers in Maine. This was the first round in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC).
Clippers were first on the board off of a free kick outside the box. Bobcats were still down 1-0 at half. Freshman Megan Knoll, playing through a broken nose, battled for the ball in the midfield. With around 20 minutes left she beat the goalie and off of a pass from Sophomore Annie DeHaven crushing the ball into the upper 90.
The game winning goal came with less than 18 minutes left when Falon Cote scored off a cross driven across the box from DeHaven. Cote placed the ball directly in the side netting past the keeper to lift the bobcats to a 2-1 victory.
The Bobcats will move on to the Final Four next weekend in Concord, NH to play the Southern Maine Community College SeaWolves next Saturday
